If you’re looking for a place to getaway to escape the winter weather, or even just to enjoy an all year round desert oasis, then Scottsdale, Arizona is the place for you. With plenty of places to explore, play, and resorts to stay Scottsdale offers a little bit of everything for everybody! From baseball, to golf, and world class spa’s Scottsdale celebrates passion in all its forms. One of my favorites is the Westin Kierland.
As you drive up the exquisite palm tree lined driveway, you know you’re in for an experience. Take a walk around the property and see the amazing amenities: a lazy river, multiple pools, a surf rider, golf course, spa, and much more. Better yet, the Westin Kierland is flanked by one of the premier shopping destinations in Scottsdale.
If you’re traveling in the spring, be sure to visit the Cactus League spring training where fifteen Major League Baseball teams conduct spring training. Enjoy the Spring Training Festival event which kicks off the spring training season. Want more information about all the local attractions, visit here.
And if it’s food you’re looking for, well then look no further. With tons of boutique restaurants popping up, Scottsdale is one destination all foodies should visit with over 400 restaurants ranging from trendy restaurants to western style saloons, this city boasts acclaimed chefs, innovative cuisine, and spectacular al fresco dining.
My top must eat’s:
- Virtue: At Virtù, the Machiavellian term for achieving excellence, expect a wandering, Mediterranean-inspired menu that changes almost weekly, sometimes daily, featuring handmade pastas, premium seasonal produce sourced from some of Arizona’s most celebrated farmers, superb seafood imported from the most notable fish markets in North America and southern Europe, as well as a seasonal cocktail program crafted with fresh-pressed juices and unique spirits. Chef Osso often refers to the food – and the vibe – of Virtu as a “beautifully composed symphony of sights, scents and tastes”. Visit Virtu
- FnB: Once called “the epicenter of creative Arizona cuisine” by Food & Wine Magazine, as well as named “Best New Restaurant” by nearly every major publication in the Phoenix area upon its debut in 2009, FnB has continued to receive acclaim both locally and beyond for its richly flavored, globally accented seasonal menus, continually showcasing the best of Arizona’s abundant farming and agricultural community. Over the years FnB has also been highlighted in the New York Times, Travel + Leisure Magazine, Forbes Magazine, and many others.Tucked inside the charming and historic Craftsman Court, in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, FnB owes its praise and passion to its owners, Chef Charleen Badman and Front of House Manager and Beverage Director Pavle Milic. Visit FnB
- Lons at the Hermosa: At LON’s at The Hermosa, fine dining in Scottsdale is at its best where age-old cooking methods of smoking, roasting and wood-grilling are employed along with European techniques. The cuisine offered at LON’s can be characterized as comfort cuisine that utilizes the flavors of the region and is a product of natural and sustainable resources. The use of authentic Arizona flavors with cutting-edge trends speaks to what you will find on the menu when dining at LON’s. Visit Lons
Whatever brings you to beautiful Arizona, I know that you’ll have an amazing trip!
